Let Me Introduce Myself!
Mary DeCarlo is a writer and performer living in Queens with her husband and cat.
Her fiction has been published in Bending Genres, HAD, Identity Theory, Gone Lawn, Rejection Letters, word west revue, Variety Pack and elsewhere. Her story "The Summer Before the Glitter Fell Out of My Eyes" was selected for Best Small Fictions.
She is the recipient of the 2026 Dan I and Naomi Rodden Playwriting Award for her play Echoes of a Hollow Body, which also received a reading at the Last Frontier Theatre Conference in Valdez, Alaska. Her play, Magic Years, was a semifinalist for the Lanford Wilson New American Play Festival. Other plays have been presented at Dixon Place, the Hudson Guild, The Wild Project, Spark Creative Works, The Elisabeth-von-Thadden School in Germany, and elsewhere.
She earned an MA in Text and Performance from RADA and Birkbeck University of London and is a current member resident of the Woodward Residency in Ridgewood, Queens where she is working on a novel.
