Playwright & Performer




Mary DeCarlo is a NYC-based playwright and actor originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania. She is interested in new writing, dark comedy, and the intersection of dreams and reality. Her short plays have been seen at The Wild Project, The Exquisite Corpse Company, and Primary Stages ESPA Detention Series. Her full-lengths have been seen in New York City and Heidelberg, Germany. As an actor, she has performed in NYC at Dixon Place, The Wild Project, Judson Church Magic Time, the Secret Theatre, and others. Currently, she is starring in Everyone Else Has: the web series, which she co-created and she co-hosts the weekly podcast, Dawson Cries, alongside her sister. She has an MA in Text and Performance from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and Birkbeck University of London as well as a BFA in Acting from Arcadia University. She is a core writing member of the Ant and Dove Collective. 

Mary played a featured role in the film "The Next Step" which premiered at the Hip Hop Film Festival on August 12th, 2020. She has recently had writing published in the literary magazines Capsule Stories and Variety Pack.
